Do many dentists offer dental implant treatment on saturdays?

Q. How long does it normally take to recover from the dental implant procedure? Is it possible to get the treatment done on a saturday at some clinics? I need to limit my time off work as much as I can.
A. Some clinics, like mine, offer saturday services only in certain circumstances.

What is the average cost for a single dental implant?

Q. What is the average cost for one dental implant? I have read that it may be possible to lessen the price by having more than one dental implant done at a time??
A. Hi, many thanks for your email. The average price for a single tooth dental implant including the crown is between £2000 – £3000 dependant on where you go and who performs the treatment. It is generally accepted that if you have more than one implant there may be a small decrease in the cost, but nothing massive, more sometimes as a gesture of goodwill rather than a true reduction in cost. Hope this is helpful.

What after-care does a dental implant require?

Q. My dentist has told me that I will need to get a dental implant. I would like to know what kind of after-care is required when you get the imaplnt to take care of it? Will a normal dental hygiene routine suffice, or is special care required?
A. The implant should be treated like a normal crown/tooth with normal oral hygiene procedures.

Dentist numbed mouth to perform implant, but still numb week later?

Q. I had my dental implant put in a week ago now, and I am very worried. My dentist numbed the area around my mouth for the procedure and all seemed to go fine. However, a week later and the area around my mouth is still numb slightly. Should I be worried?
A. I would recommend you speak to you dentist as soon as possible, so he can examine the area.

How much would dental implants for the upper jaw cost?

Q. Hi Doc. I have a full denture in my upper jaw and 7 teeth on a denture in the front of my lower jaw. I really dislike the upper set. Could you give me a approx amount of how much implants would cost for the upper jaw? Hope that sounds right.
A. Hi, many thanks for your email. To replace the upper denture with a fixed full arch bridge on a minimum of four dental implants, which is commonly called an ‘all on four’ system, would be approx £10,000 – £14,000 dependant on where you went and which surgeon did the treatment. I hope this is the information you require. Remember that most clinics do help to finance the treatment using interest free credit.

Will dental insurance cover the cost of implants?

Q. Is dental insurance able to cover any of the cost of dental implants?
A. Hi, many thanks for your email. This is a very complicated area as it is usually insurance dependant, ie. some insurance policies cover then, some don’t. My advice would be to call up the insurance company and ask the question.

Hope this is helpful.

What is the sinus lift procedure?

Q. I have been informed by my dentist that I will need to have a sinus lift before I can get mydental implant. I have never heard of a sinus lift before and was hoping you would be able to shed some light on such a procedure?
A. The sinus lift procedure enables implants to be placed at the back of the upper jaw when bone height is lost. This occurs due to the loss of teeth causing the sinus to expand, losing bone in the process. The sinus lift restores the bone back to its natural position and usually involves the placement of a biomaterial under the sinus lining to allow the new bone to form around the implant.

How long to get four dental implants?

Q. I would like to know how long the whole process lasts when it comes to getting a dental implant? I am in need of four dental implants according to my dentist, if the number required will affect the time scale.
A. Of course it is very difficult to answer this question, as there are many factors which have to be taken into account. Usually, it can take between 3 to 6 months, depending on the type of implant placed and whether any bone grafting is required.

How many appointments are needed to fit a dental implant?

Q. How many appointments does it typically take to get a dental implant sorted and a bridge? Are you able to get a temporary tooth in place if there is a need to let the area heal, for aesthetic reasons?
A. Hi, many thanks for your email.

The first appointment is usually x rays and impressions to aid the planning of the case.

The second appointment would be to place the implant. I usually then review the patient a week later to make sure all is healing well.

After this there is a healing period of around 10 weeks.

The next apppointment would be to take the impression of the implants, along with a record of how the teeth come together and a shade for the final bridge.

The last appointment would be to fit the bridge.

Treatment time completely taking about 16 weeks.

There can be provisions to have a temporary tooth in the interim period. This is usually a sticky bridge or denture.

Hope this information is helpful.

How much does a single dental implant usually cost?

Q. The bridge I had put in to fill the gap where I had a missing tooth is now on the way out. I am now wanting to get a dental implant as this is supposed to last longer. I would just like an estimate on how much it would typically cost to get a single dental implant?
A. Hi.
At my practice a single implant with abutment and crown can cost between £1800 and £2200 depending on your choice of implant and crown.
