Q. I have just lost a lower premolar. It was a very difficult extraction over 50 minutes to remove. I am thinking about an implant but nervious about how long it will take to put in an implant and if i will have any instruments or equipment in my mouth whilst the procedure is being done. I understand I will have local anesthetic similar to that used for extraction. What happens to the cut gum while the implant is being positioned? Thank you
A. a simple implant by an experienced operator will take less time than the extraction is is usually less intensive- you will be able to rest every few minutes. It should be a very straightforward treatment if it is well planned by an experienced dentist
