Q. I am a woman of over 50 years and am very nervous when getting dental treatment but must have implants. Due to decay one of my teeth needs removing but would I be okay for this treatment and what can be done about my particular fear of such treatment?,
A. Hi thanks for your question. Many people like yourself are anxious about dental treatment, especially implants. The good news is that many patients that undergo implant treatment find that it\’s not as traumatic as they expected it to be. If you\’re particularly anxious, I would advise speaking to the dentist and asking if they offer sedation procedures. During sedation you\’re in a much more relaxed conscious state and many patients have no recollection of the procedure being carried out. I hope that this helps. Regards George Glover
