I have a loose front tooth that i’m frightened to use, my dentist said there is no chance of it falling out, should i be looking at an implant?

July 17th, 2013
Q.

I have a loose front tooth which i dare not use to bite as I am frightened that it will make it worse and is slightly painful when I put pressure on it. My Dentist told me it was fine and that there was no chance of it falling out, but that to me does not solve the problem of the looseness and discomfort it causes let alone not being able to bite with it.. It is also about 1½ mm lower than my other front tooth which it never used to be. Should I be looking at an implant or what? Many Thanks

I would like a molar tooth implant but worried about the treatment, is titanium the best material to use?

July 17th, 2013
Q.

I would like to replace a molar tooth at the very back of my mouth and I worry in case the implant will cause my tongue to go numb or if this procedure will touch an acupuncture meridian point causing another area of my body to be affected. Also is there an even better material other than titanium which can be used for the implant itself, really appreciate hearing from you as I am so worried about this procedure, thank you for any help on this matter!

My dental crown is too long and I am concerned what will happen if it falls out. Can you advise?

July 14th, 2013
Q.

Hello, in 2008 i fell down some steps outside a building in London and broke my front tooth (Upper right Incisor). Originally a crown was put on which lasted well until christmas this year when it fell off. I returned to have another Crown fitted. In July i needed a root canal which was done through the crown already in place.

The crown is too long much longer than my other incisor, and a darker colour than my surrounding teeth. I guess my first question is there anything that can be done about this?

What i am really concerned about is what happens if this crown fails? because i have had a root canal through thte crown would it be possible to put on another crown if this one fell off or would i have to go straight too an implant? I am currently a student and if this happens in the next few years, would i be able to get NHS help paying for this if it were to happen?

Many thanks

Could you advise me about dental implants and the treatment involved?

June 14th, 2013
Q.

Hello,
I have three missing molar teeth on my bottom jaw and I constantly have problems with food getting stuck and the gum getting inflamed which is both painful and annoying as it happens so frequently.
I have read about dental implants and although they seem very expensive the results seem fantastic.
Could you please tell me how the procedure works generally and the time frames involved?
I live in Sweden for half of the year so I would like to get them ASAP.Are there any centres that you would suggest i contact for this? Thanks in advance for your help and advise.

I have an issue with the price and treatment time of dental implants. Can you advise?

June 10th, 2013
Q.

Hello. Can you please advise me. I have had a missing tooth for a couple of years now and I find that the gum keeps on swelling up, this often happens when i eat certain foods and it thenh gets stuck down there.
I think it is time for me to finally do something about this problem but i am unsure about what treatment to have that
would be the best for me.I am considering getting dental crown and dental bridge work and also dental implants for my missing teeth. I have somewhat of a problem with dental implants. My issue with dental implants though is the price and how long it takes-can you convince me otherwise about this situation? Thank you for giving me this time.

Will my steroid treatment for angioedema affect my chances of having dental implants?

April 19th, 2013
Q.

I may be needing an implant on an upper premolar tooth if my second root canal is unsuccessful. The tooth is not abscessed and my dentist said all my bone area is intact. Implants would be my first choice to replace the tooth. However, I am finding some information confusing on the internet about steroids. I had a 5 day course of steroids about a year ago and abother couple of days worth 7 months ago. This was for angioedema which was because my body was producing a lot of histamine when I had a virus & made my eyes swell. I now take daily antihistamines and never have a problem. The only time I’ve had the angioedema was when my GP suggested I try stopping the antihistamines as angioedema is not permanent. It goes away on its own after a couple of years. In 2 and a half years, I’ve had 3 attacks lasting about 4 days each and that’s the only occasions I’ve had steroids. Will this get in the way of me being a candidate for an implant? Many thanks,

I am having my bridge removed, but I cannot have implant for another year, is this normal?

April 19th, 2013
Q.

my bridge needs removing due to bone loss and infection. 2 teeth how soon can i have implants. my dentist has said i will need bone grafts and she will make a two tooth plate which i am reluctant about but that implants will not be an option for a year or so . i was wondering why this was the case. also how long from start to finish can one roughly expect the whole procedure to take? is it painful and can a temporary plate or similar be worn between treatments

I have lost a tooth but cannot have implant treatment until 3 months from now, will anymore damage occur?

February 24th, 2013
Q.

I have a question regarding my 2nd front upper tooth. I had a root canal done on this tooth which later discoloured and I chose to have a veneer done to improve its appearance. However, now the tooth broke off at the gumline. I want to get an implant but I’m moving away in three months and have been advised that this is not enough time for implant to heal and so to complete the procedure. In light of this, I’ve been asked to wait until I move to the new location and have the implant put later. I want to double check this will not be a great problem (does bone loss progress signiicantly in three months?). ALso, my job requires me to speak publicly so I need to have some aesthetic interim solution — could you please let me know what the best solution is since I do want an implant at a later stage? Thank you.
