What would be the cost of the whole implant procedure?

Q. I now only have three teeth left in my upper mouth and I am also now going to need to get these removed. I thinkg dental implants and a denture seem like a good option. But, would you be able to give me an estimate on how much this would. That’s three teeth extracted, implants (however many) and then the complete upper denture?
A. hi many thanks for your email, the cost would break down like so::

1:extraction of the three teeth and addition of the teeth to your existing denture. approx £600 – £800

2:placement of two dental implants to retain the denture £2000 – £3000

3:new implant retained denture £1000 – £2000.

hope this is helpful

What are mini implants used for?

Q. Are mini dental implants primarily for holding dentures in place or something along those lines? From what I have read that seems to be the idea but I am not too sure?
A. I would only use mini implants for a temporary solution or when funds are tight to anchor a lower denture

Okay to get implant if have rheumatoid arthritis?

Q. I have rheumatoid arthritis which can lead to osteoporosis. Can this affect a full set implant? I had an infection in front lower tooth and a ’shadow’ across the other front teeth. The hospital cut through the bone to remove infection, but it returned and my dentist decided to remove all 4 teeth, leaving me with a denture. I have problems with remaining back teeth, and a loose crown, which holds the denture. I already have trouble with the denture and as I have a shallow jaw, I don’t see how a full denture would stay in place. He has suggested implants. I am worried if the Rheumatoid Arthritis and various future medications plus the removal of bone from front teeth will have an effect on implants.
A. hi many thanks for your email, my advice is that unfortunately although you are medically comprimised the options you have are limited. the dental implants to retain the denture or regain fixed teeth would be in my advice the best option.

How many implants needed to suppot complete upper denture?

Q. I have a complete denture for my upper mouth. Not had it for too long but just wanted to see how it was without implants – not all that good it turns about. I need more stability that I believe dentalimplants willl be able to give me. I am just wanting to ask how many dental implants would be needed to help provide support for my complete upper denture?
A. IMO a minimum of 4

Treatment available for missing front lower teeth?

Q. I have not got any lower back teeth only 5 front teeth, and one on the end has snapped off, the next one to it is only part of the tooth as my last dentist drilled it for some reason. I cannot go around without my front lower teeth. What is the best way to go….is it possible to have a bridge??
A. hi many thanks for your email, the options are as follows:

1:denture which could replace the front teeth but also the back however it is removable.
2:bridge, if possible will require the preparation of the existing teeth and will only replace gaps between teeth.
3:implants, however the gap areas will need to be assessed for bone quanity and quality.

hope this is helpful.

Can dental implants secure denture?

Q. I have a denture and have done so for quite some time now. I have never felt all that comfortable with it but over time got used to it enough to get by. Now, I am contemplating getting dental implants as I have read that they can help to keep the dentures firmly in place, which mine has never felt like. How is it that they are able to do this and what would this involve? Also, would I be able to use the same denture?
A. Dentures can have better retention by using dental implants. Attachments to the dentures such as locators, magnets , ball attachments , bars can provide this. I tend to prefer bars or locators or both.

An example of a case i treated is the following

You would require a new denture.

i hope this helps

Can you get dental implants after getting dentures?

Q. I am going to be getting a complete denture for my upper teeth. I understand that dental implants can help a great deal in holding dentures in place but I am unable to afford them at the moment. I would like to know if it is possible to get dental implants at a later date to help support the dentures?
A. Thanks for your question, Yes the implants can be placed at a later date and either have a new denture made or if possible modfiy the old denture to fit the new implants.

What would be the cost if a dental implant and complete denture?

Q. I am in the market to get dental imaplants and a complete denture for my bottom teeth. Could you please give me a rough estimate of what this may cost?
A. It really depends on how many implants you want holding the denture. This can vary from £3500 to £10000 dependable on the number of implants.

Are there any alternatives to a denture/implant?

Q. Hi Dr Moore I am 62 years of age. I have lost all my lower right side molers, including the canine. The bone is very thin on this side and an Implantologist locally has said he would have to give me a cross between an implant and a denture on this side. The other problem is that I have lost all my left upper molars except one premolar. Therefore I cannot use my molars for chewing at all. I am using my front teeth for chewing at present. I realise that the front top teeth are doing more work than they have ever done in my whole life and the backs of the four main front teeth are wearing thin. Soon I will have to think about crowns as well as implants. However I’ve just been on Dr Mercola’s website from America and he says we must not have any kind of metal or titanium in our implants because these will cause health problems long term. I had my mercury fillings removed years ago, however I realise mercury can still be in the tissues years later. Have you any suggestions of where I can go from here? The idea of a denture/implant does not appeal to me very much. Your expert advice will be very much appreciated.
A. I would stay clear of non-titanium implants as these have a very poor track record especially in jaws of low bone volume. Titanium is a very predictable material with very low levels of complications. I would speak to your implantologist and ask for a CT scan to measure the bone prior to starting any treatment.
