Fillings have broken my teeth, are implants the best option to replace them?

October 16th, 2012
Q.

I believe as a result of dental work i had approx 10years ago, resulted in me loosing 2 of my teeth – Top 2 at the left had side. The 2 fillings that had casued both my teeth to break. In order to fix the problem at the time the dentist inserted a metal rod into the gum, hence i have 2 teeth that are similar to the rest. This however has causing me problems ever since where the false tooth keeps falling off if i chew something like a gum or hard stuff. I have been numerous time to the same dentist, though that particular dentist does not practice there a few of his colleagues have moved elsewhere which i go to. Every few years i have to go back to fix the problem, most annoying thing is that the food gets stuck. To get this permanantly resolved what options do i have that will no cost to much? Many thanks

My two front crowns are falling out, can I have dental implants instead

July 26th, 2012
Q.

Hi.
Both my 2 upper front teeth are crowned following an accident when I was 11, I am now 46. I have had 2 Apisectomies on one of the teeth (crowns). I have started feeling a lot of pressure again above this tooth & also the crown looks like it has dropped, compared to the other crown next to it. I have several questions:
1. Can I have another apisectomy performed?
2. If I have to have an implant would it be better to replace both front teeth with a double implant, although the other tooth has been fine since being crowned.
3. I am on a budget as well, & don’t have spare cash available so would have to get a loan for the treatment, is there finance available to cover this.
4. Could I have an implant & treatment done on 1 day or would I need a bone graph as I have read on the Internet.
Sorry I’m really upset & confused by it all!!

Can you tell me if dental implants are possible if a person has no teeth?

May 29th, 2012
Q.
hello doctor kalpesh bohara. I have no teeth at all, and am getting pretty sick of wearing my uncomfortable and very ugly dentures. I really like the idea of getting dental implants, even though I am quite nervous about this as it does seem to be an invasive procedure. Could you tell me what could be done for a person with no teeth and how long it would take for it all to be healed? thanks for any info you can give, it is greatly appreciated as this is something i really want to get as soon as I can,

I hate wearing dentures and am interested in implants.

May 21st, 2012
Q.
hi i am a long suffering denture wearer and am very interested in what dental implants can offer me. I have a complete denture, which has been bothering me for years, do you think it would be a good idea for me to replace all of my teeth with implants? and would these be individual implants or something else. and one last question what is the generally cost of a procedure like that? thanks,

My dentist says my crowns have to be narrower, is that true?

May 11th, 2012
Q.
I had lost both my first molars many years ago. I recently had two implants placed in the gaps where the teeth had once been. Two implants because the gap had widened over time. There had also been substantial bone loss especially on the right hand side, therefore the implants were ‘shortys’. The (double)crowns placed on these implants are narrower than the teeth on either side, (the premolar and second molar), the crowns do not resemble teeth at all. My dentist has excused this issue by saying that as the imlants were short, the crowns have to be narrower. Can you tell me is there any truth in his explaination. I really am distressing about this. I can send you photographs if you wish?,

How do I actually find a dentist who is experienced with dental implants?

April 6th, 2012
Q.
Hello Dr Bohara, This ia a question that follows on from one I asked earlier on about “bad experience with a bone graft….” You replied that it is important to select a surgeon who is experienced enough with the procedure to place dental implants. I live near Chelmsford in Essex and would like to go to the most experienced in this area, but how can I find out this information? Thank you for your time and I hope you can provide some assistance.,

Can you please offer your advice to ease my dental implant treatment concerns?

April 1st, 2012
Q.
after a bad experience with a bone graft and being numb for over a month, I’m now having second thoughts about getting a implant. My appt is in two weeks, so I need advice asap. With 5 children, I am not sure if it’s worth the risk I’ve been reading about. I was in pain from a failed root canal for many years, and I don’t wanna go back to that. seems too many things can go wrong, infection etc….I’m still young and pretty, and I’ve lost my main chewing lower right molar. what else can I do. I’ve been worried sick and loosing sleep. please help me to decide. not sure if it makes a difference but my brother has 2 implants that are fine, and my sisters bottom molars are fine that she has had for over 15 yrs. but she has had a nightmare with her upper implants. didn’t know if family accepts implants the same way? thank you,

My dentist tells me getting all my teeth our and replacing them with implants is not a good idea. What is your opinion?

March 20th, 2012
Q.
Hello, I am age 40 and very depressingly I have rapidly decaying teeth (I don’t eat much sugar), I wear an upper denture with three teeth on it, and have another four upper crowns at least that are held on very little tooth. My bottom back teeth are all filled heavily and i have two bottom crowns. I am a nervous patient with a sensitive gag reflex and a phobia about vomiting but I do manage to attend as regularly as required, my caring and patient dentist. Instead of going through endless dental proceedures on my horrible teeth I would really like to have all of my teeth taken out and implant supported dentures top and bottom, my dentist doesnt think this is a good idea because he says my teeth have some years left in them yet as long as i keep attending and having work done as required. I hate every appointment and would like a solution for my mouth that has me dentist free for many years. Please advice.,

I have been told that my gums are not strong enough for dental implants, what can you suggest?

February 20th, 2012
Q.
i have not been to a dentist in years. pluck up the courage to see one, and when he finished assessing my teeth and gums, he said that mt gums would not be able to take implants because of bone structure and my age(52), he also cleaned them but afterwards they felt has if all the enamel had come away and now they are really sensitive to hot and cold! could you please advise?,
