Why is it going to take 4-6 months to fix a crown to my dental implant?

January 17th, 2012
Q.

I am aged 58.Only two days ago My dentist have implanted a metallic screw type material on one my tooth. I thought he will provide me a crown on that screw within a day or two but he is now telling he will fix the crown after 4 or 6 months. Will you please explain me why so delay. An orthopedic surgeon dose not need so much time to insert a metallic part on the human body. Human body accepts a particular type of titanium alloy do you think that the screw what my dentist have implanted is of not that type so this unnecessary time is required to acclaim the given metal with my body .

My two front crowns are falling out, can I have dental implants instead

September 26th, 2011
Q.

Hi.
Both my 2 upper front teeth are crowned following an accident when I was 11, I am now 46. I have had 2 Apisectomies on one of the teeth (crowns). I have started feeling a lot of pressure again above this tooth & also the crown looks like it has dropped, compared to the other crown next to it. I have several questions:
1. Can I have another apisectomy performed?
2. If I have to have an implant would it be better to replace both front teeth with a double implant, although the other tooth has been fine since being crowned.
3. I am on a budget as well, & don’t have spare cash available so would have to get a loan for the treatment, is there finance available to cover this.
4. Could I have an implant & treatment done on 1 day or would I need a bone graph as I have read on the Internet.
Sorry I’m really upset & confused by it all!!

Is it possible to change the implant tooth?

November 4th, 2009
Q.
Hello, I had an implant on my 6th, six months ago and the prosthetic tooth was fixed on it about three weeks ago. implant went very well.two questions 1-Is it possible to change the tooth on the implant after it’s been fixed? mine seems too short. my dentist had to shave teeth on the same side of it too much that now I can feel a gap between them when I close my mouth and pressure on my 3rds and 4ths teeth which is driving me crazy. 2-Will I be able to chew with the prosthetic tooth on the implant without any pain? because I can’t chew crunchy or alittle harder food, like apples!Nuts? don’t even think about it!

How long does treatment time take for dental implants with crown?

October 28th, 2009
Q.
I am going to be getting a dental implant with a crown next week, but not sure exactly how long this whole process will take. Anyhow, I would like to know whether the crown is likely to get discoloured over time, or whether it will remain at the same colour. Are things like smoking and red win adn things like that more likely to stain them?
