Do symptoms point to infection of dental implant?

Q. Two weeks ago I finally had my dental implant put in. I stuck to all the dentist’s instructions what with salt water to rinse mouth and medication, but still managed to get red sweling around the area. From what I have read up on it would seem that the implant has failed and I have made an appointment within the next few days. Does this kind of thing happen often? Is it likely to happen again if I get the implant done again? How long will it take for the gum to recover from this?
A. it may just be infected. you should seek an appointment with your dentist ASAP
