Q. Once a tooth is extracted how long does it take before an implant can be put in? Is it only the healing time that plays a part in the time scale or are there any other factors?
A. I prefer to either remove the tooth and place an implant at the same time (immediate implants) or wait for 4-6 months for the bone to heal prior to placing the implant.
