How painful is the dental implant procedure?

Q. What is the pain of a dental implant similar to when it comes to other dentist treatment? Is it something like a filling or even a root canal filling? I know you can get sedation but it is still bound to hurt after the procedure?
A. Remarkably for a straight forward dental implant the pain is described by most people as very minimal and usually far less that what they felt after the initial extraction, as long as patients adhere to the pain relief advice given to them by there surgeon.
