I Have Recently Been Told That I Would Need Zygomatic Implants At A Cost Of £25000. Is This A Correct Estimate?

Q.
Dear Dr Moore. I have been recently told by my dentist that I need to have Zygomatic implants because my bones are too week for titanium implants. Can you please tell me what this would normally cost as I have been told that it would be around £25000. As you can appreciate this is a lot of money and I need to be sure. Is this a straight forward operation and what are the after effects of it, including the worst scenario. Thank you and I look forward to your advice regarding this matter.
A.
Thank you for writing in. These implants are used in extreme cases of bone loss and show a good track record in the right hands, the cost seems about right for this type of complex treatment. If you are unsure, make sure your dentist has a good track record with this type of procedure and note down all the issues you’d like to ask before you think about commencing treatment. I hope this sets you straight and clarifies your situation. Dr Andrew Moore.
