I’m 24years old & i had a lip piercing in for 3 years, i’ve taken it out now but due to this piercing my two front lower teeth have been damaged, i’ve had x-rays & they show i’ve lost about 45-50% of the bone in my teeth & some of my gum has worn away.. I’ve had composite filler to fill up the gap (still abit of a gap near my gum to keep it clean) but my dentist said i’ll need a fixed bridge or implants in the near future..I’ve heard about the mini implants & prefer the sound of them so far but i’m not sure if i’m the right candidate for them..Please can i email you a picture before my composite filler to see what you suggest please?..I wish i never had the piercing done,my teeth were lovely & straight before this happened, i just want to choose the right procedure for my problem.. please help! Kind regards
A.
It is a common problem with lip piercing’s and can result in the loss of 1 or 2 teeth. mini implants tend to be used for stabilising a full denture rather than for separate teeth. I would normally use a single conventional implant with 2 teeth.
