Is the application of dental implants a painful procedure?

Q. I would like to get a dental implant but am not one who cares for the dentist very much. Does the procedure hurt at all or is it relatively painless? Is there any special service that dentists offer to make the whole thing easier for people to cope with treatment?
A. Hi

When placing dental implants, the patient has an option of being done under local anaesthetic or intarvenous sedation. Either way, the procedure does not hurt at all, if carried out correctly.

Intravenous sedation involves using a drug which relaxes the patient and therefore sedates them. Many of our nervous patients have this option.
