Is there an age limit for bone grafting?

Q. I am down to get a dental implant but have been advised that I will need to get a bone graft before I am able to go ahead with the procedure as there is insufficient bone to support the implant. Considering I am now in my 70’s would this procedure be safe to go ahead for me? What can I expect?
A. hi many thanks for your enquiry, the bone graft is a procedure which does not require age to be on your side, the main precautions should be that your fit and well, not diabetic, not on lots of medication, and your a non smoker. as long as your dentist has assessed all the risks and benefits and then given you the option of the bone graft, i feel it will be fine to proceed with it.
