Hi, I did something really stupid. I had my implants fitted only 3 weeks ago and was extremely itchy around one of the areas. I scratched it and now it won’t stop bleeding. I thought it would stop but it hasn’t! I’ve tried everything and I’m scared that it means my implant is failing. I’m seeing my implant dentist tomorrow but just wondered if you could advise me for now? I need to feel better…I spent SO much money on these implants. Thanks for your time.

Hi, thank you for your question. I’m sure it is nothing to worry about. Try to keep clear of the area and ask your dentist to check it over when you see him tomorrow. I’m sure the bleeding is just due to the irritation from you scratching it. See if your dentist can prescribe something for the itching if it continues. I hope this is of some use to you.
