My two teeth that i had apicoectomy’s on 20 years ago are infected, what’s the best way forward from here?

Q.
I have two teeth at the very front of my lower jaw that had apicoectomy’s approx 20 years ago and are now infected. I understand from what I have read I will need bone grafting, possibly a small/mini implant and that there is an above average chance they may fail – can you give me any advice on the way forward, suitable treatment (I don’t want more bone damage or anything that could fall out / break etc) and if I can find a good experienced implant dentist could they treatment work. Many thanks for any advice.
A.
It is highly likely bone grafting of some kind will be needed but not a mini implant. I would remove the tooth and fit a temporary bridge for 3-4 months then reassess the area for grafting before placing a conventional implant. Call my practice if you’d like to arrange a full consultation here in Essex.
