I Have Gum Disease And I’m Worried My Teeth May Fall Out, Can You Provide Me With Any Help Or Advice?

July 19th, 2014
Q.

Hello, Dr Bohara. I have gum disease, which I have had treatment for over the last couple of years. After a filling some weeks ago, I had quite bad toothache, and the tooth is now about to fall out. I am devastated, as I do not want a plate fitted. I am also scared that the other teeth will fall out as well as this. I thought I was on top of the disease?
If I pay for just one tooth now, I may have to keep getting dentures which will be costing more and more, my dentist has not been very helpful in this matter either. I can’t have a bridge as I do not have many back teeth. I really hope you can help me with this enquiry, any information or advice will be greatly received. Thank You.

I need to replace my missing tooth, what are my options and what problems would occur if I just left the gap?

February 5th, 2013
Q.

Dear Doctor, I have had a pre-molar extracted from the right side of my mouth after having root canal treatment which couldn’t save the tooth as it had decayed too much. I now have a gap within my mouth. What ar emy options going forward? I’ve read up about dental implants but don’t know what the cost of having a dental implant for just one tooth would be? Can you provide a rough estimate? Secondly, are there any options for replacing this one tooth other than a dental implant? Finally if I decided to do nothing and lived with the gap will it be detrimental to my other teeth? Regards

What can I do about my loose bridge?

April 16th, 2012
Q.
Hello, Doctor. I wonder if you could answer a question for me?
I had eight mini implants to support a top bridge with twelve teeth fitted over four years ago. I have broken two crowns and asked a dentist if its possible to remove my (loose)bridge and replace the crowns,he says its not possible. Is this true ?
Thank you very much for your time ,

My dentist has advised two implants, are these necessary?

December 3rd, 2011
Q.
I went for a check-up as a gap has formed between my bridge and one of the ‘anchor teeth’. My bridge is upper jaw – the anchor tooth is L6, gap at L5 and the other anchor tooth is L4. L7 (my very back tooth) is a crowned tooth that has also had a root canal. My dentist has informed me that L6 needs to come out as it is deteriorating, and has proposed two implants (L5 and L6) to remedy the problem and replace the bridge (which will be trimmed so L4 remains covered by it) Does this sound about right? Can a bridge not be attached to L7 and span across to L4? Or even put an implant into L6 and bridge from that to L4, saving the need for 2 implants? Thanks!,
