I have not been to the dentist in years because I am petrified of my dentist. Can you help?

I am absolutely petrified of a dentist consequently have not been for years and my teeth are now loose. I don’t know what to do and am very scared. I know I could not have implants because I just could not cope with it I know that, is there any way if I lost a front tooth I could have a false one without drilling into my bone please? I’m also now ashamed to go to the dentist and it has been so long and my teeth are so bad.

I’m considering implants but have a number of problems that might affect this, will i still be able to achieve a good mouth profile?

I am currently considering implants on my upper jaw along with sinus lift/bone graft. I still have some baby teeth which need removing, and some of the sound adult teeth will be crowned and a fixed bridge will be fitted on implants I currently wear a upper denture which covers my existing teeth and obviously gives fullness in my mouth. I have recently been treated for the periodontal problem. I know this is a complex case, but I would like to know whether I can achieve a fairly good lip/mouth profile after as when I remove the denture I am really flat mouthed. How much do dental implant costs, how long do they take and are there finance options available?

I have had both of my upper canines missing for several years (due to a genetic trait that prevented the secondary ones from growing in as a child), and I’m considering implants. What are the pricing options as well as the length of time it would take to perform? Would it be possible to perform both implants at once, or will I have to get one side fixed before the other? Also, since the canines are the ones that are missing, will I be able to get the implants in the same shape as a canine? Lastly, are payment plans available, or is everything due immediately after the procedure? What about insurance coverage? Thanks.

I’m 24years old & i had a lip piercing in for 3 years, i’ve taken it out now but due to this piercing my two front lower teeth have been damaged, i’ve had x-rays & they show i’ve lost about 45-50% of the bone in my teeth & some of my gum has worn away

I’m 24years old & i had a lip piercing in for 3 years, i’ve taken it out now but due to this piercing my two front lower teeth have been damaged, i’ve had x-rays & they show i’ve lost about 45-50% of the bone in my teeth & some of my gum has worn away.. I’ve had composite filler to fill up the gap (still abit of a gap near my gum to keep it clean) but my dentist said i’ll need a fixed bridge or implants in the near future..I’ve heard about the mini implants & prefer the sound of them so far but i’m not sure if i’m the right candidate for them..Please can i email you a picture before my composite filler to see what you suggest please?..I wish i never had the piercing done,my teeth were lovely & straight before this happened, i just want to choose the right procedure for my problem.. please help! I am experiencing normal side-effects of dental implant surgery?

I had an implant fitted 3 months ago and although It appeared to settle down after 3 doses of antibiotics, Although I still felt my gums and throat sore. I then had my new denture fittedbut could not stand the pain it caused. My tongue felt as if it was being pinched and starting to go numb. The dentist practically had to file the denture down completely on one side. This did help but the other problem I was experinceing was pain at the base of the tooth next to the implant which was like someone hitting a raw nerve when I tried to brush my teeth. The dentist said this was caused by a rogue nerve and took this tooth out also.Tthis resulted in a dry socket which again is very painful . It is starting to get better but my gums and throught still feel sore and I now have a horrible taste of iron in my mouth and it is very dry. Have you heard of these side affects before?

dental implant for the replacement of fallen crown

I have previously (5 yrs ago) had root treatment and a crown on my to second pre-molar. Last weekend the crown, which covered most of the area of the tooth, fell out. Today I visited a dentist and apparently I now don’t have enough tooth on show to have another crown (my gum has already covered over the area) the root is also not in the best condition for this. So this would mean my options are a denture, a bridge or an implant. Not keen to get a denture, the bridge I’m guessing may cause problems down the line for my other surrounding teeth. So what kind of price would I be looking at for an implant? And is this a more “permenant” solution? Many thanks.

My dentist says my crowns have to be narrower, is that true?

I had lost both my first molars many years ago. I recently had two implants placed in the gaps where the teeth had once been. Two implants because the gap had widened over time. There had also been substantial bone loss especially on the right hand side, therefore the implants were ‘shortys’. The (double)crowns placed on these implants are narrower than the teeth on either side, (the premolar and second molar), the crowns do not resemble teeth at all. My dentist has excused this issue by saying that as the imlants were short, the crowns have to be narrower. Can you tell me is there any truth in his explaination. I really am distressing about this. Are implants causing my sinus problems?

$ months ago I had implant pins fitted, 4weeks ago the posts. I know have completely dry nose with 2 red swellings up it and my mouth is turning very dry as well.I have ear infections and am on Erythromycin what is happening to me? A few days after implants which are about 5 teeth from front I had a massive discharge of clear fluid from my nose. Also a big implant was shoved into an extraction socket. After the posts were attached my dentist said all is well and he wants to attach the crowns but I am rekuctant in case I need the implants removed. Help! Also I have had an overactive thyroid in past and my immunity dropped when I took the antithyroid medicine, Please please help me! Thank you Julia,
