Should I pay for expensive dental implants or get mini implants?

February 3rd, 2011
Q.
I have been quoted £2,187 for 3 Implants and some extraction work so an upper denture can be fitted by ‘Dentale’ in Shrewsbury who are a training practice. My own dentist in Belper does Implant work and originally told me the prices of these implants were impossible to obtain. He now tells me having examined the paperwork that he is concerned about the overall plan from ‘Dentale’ and sees no need for Full Implants. He suggests Mini Implants . There may be a small amount of bone augmentation needed for Full Implants but Dentale have made that clear. When I challenged Dentale they consider Mini Implants to have a higher risk of failure. I have spoken to someone I know who used Dentale and was very satisfied but there is greater expense and inconvenience in travelling and if adjustments are needed afterwards my local dentist is handy. He now also tells me he can match the price after all.Presumably because he’s using Mini Implants. I am keen for a better denture nearly swallowed the existing one with my Xmas cake.. What would you advise me?,

Are mini implants able to fill large tooth gaps?

October 4th, 2010
Q.
Hi. I have very large gaps in between most of my teeth and I\’ll admit that it is my own fault, I never took proper care of my teeth. I h ave tried several braces and they just haven\’[t worked. Anyway i don\’t want all of my teeth pulled out, obviously but just wondered if mini implants are successful when it comes to filling in large gaps? regards,,

September 10th, 2010
Q.
What are mini implants used for? I am currently waiting for my denture to be re-made and my dentist has recommend mini implants. I was in a rush so didn\’t have time to discuss anything with him. Can you please tell me what they are and what they\’re used for? Is a lot of surgery involved too?,

Would mini implants be a good option to replace front tooth gaps?

August 9th, 2010
Q.
I\’ve had two large gaps in between the first two teeth at the top and the first two teeth on the bottom jaw. They\’ve been there my whole life and braces haven\’t cured these gaps. my dentist has mentioned mini implants but i\’ve heard that they don\’t have a great track record. Can you give me some advice/recommendations?,

Would it be worth getting a mini implant to replace my dental bridge?

August 2nd, 2010
Q.
I have been attending the glasgow dental hospital for the past year since my bridge fell out. I was hoping to get an implant but the space is too small for this. therefore I am getting a bridge. However, I would much prefer something more permanent and wondered if it would be worth looking into getting a mini implant through a private practice. Since I was born without this tooth I am entitled to free treatment through the NHS but the process has taken a considerable amount of time and I am eager to get a permanent resolution rather than another bridge. They have not mentioned a mini implant so not sure if this is not available through the NHS. to be honest the whole process has been a nightmare and I would really like a permanent solution that is not too costly as I am only 21 years old.,
