Should I Get Mini Or Full Dental Implants?

April 2nd, 2015
Q.

Hi there, I wonder if you can help me to make a decision. I’ve been to 2 consultations regarding dental implants after having an accident in which I lost 3 teeth. One dentist suggested I have mini implants whereas the other guy said full implants would be best as I don’t have enough bone to support the mini implants. So obviously now I don’t know who to go with. What do you think?

Do Mini Implants Have A Shorter Healing Time Than Regular Implants?

March 6th, 2015
Q.

Hi. I’m 60 and a saxophonist. Last year I lost one front tooth. I cracked it cleanly below the gum line and it came out over a period of months. I have had periodontal surgery but have always had good teeth with only one filling to date. My dental surgeon is suggesting a £5000 implant with bone graft, implant then crown. I’m concerned with the healing time regarding playing my instrument, and have held off. Are mini implants a quicker viable option? Thanks – Ralph.

I’m 24years old & i had a lip piercing in for 3 years, i’ve taken it out now but due to this piercing my two front lower teeth have been damaged, i’ve had x-rays & they show i’ve lost about 45-50% of the bone in my teeth & some of my gum has worn away.. I’ve had composite filler to fill up the gap (still abit of a gap near my gum to keep it clean) but my dentist said i’ll need a fixed bridge or implants in the near future..I’ve heard about the mini implants & prefer the sound of them so far but i’m not sure if i’m the right candidate for them..Please can i email you a picture before my composite filler to see what you suggest please?..I wish i never had the piercing done,my teeth were lovely & straight before this happened, i just want to choose the right procedure for my problem.. please help! Kind regards

Will getting denture retained with mini implants stop food from getting stuck?

January 14th, 2012
Q.
I have new lower denture (whole set) about to be retained by mini dentures next week. I have a worry though. food or tablets get inside plastic gum (underneath tongue) and lodge up into the denture underneath false teeth. Is this something that cannot be resolved or perhaps is it the result of the denture being ill fitting?? Many Thanks,

How much would an implant cost to replace my front tooth?

November 21st, 2011
Q.
I have been having root canal treatment on a front tooth, with a view to having my crown replaced. However, the root canal has fractured and I now need a plate. Can you advise the cost of an implant, and would a mini implant be suitable?,

I was meant to get conventional implants but on the day of treatment was given mini implants. Should I be concerned?

October 14th, 2011
Q.
I recently had 5 mini implants placed in my upper jaw immediately after the removal of several teeth.During my initial consultation I was advised that the larger conventional implants would be best. But on the day of surgery was told that because I had bad gum disease it would compromise the implants and therefore best to use mini implants.I am slightly concerned and my confidence in this clinic is a little shaken.Does the advice sound valid to you?,

What is your opinion on mini dental implants compared to the traditional form?

August 18th, 2011
Q.
Hello doctor. What is your outlook on mini implants? From some information I have seen on the interned not all dentists seem to think very highly of them ewhen compared to dental implants. Why in your opinion would this be?,

Are mini implants able to fill large tooth gaps?

August 4th, 2011
Q.
Hi. I have very large gaps in between most of my teeth and I\’ll admit that it is my own fault, I never took proper care of my teeth. I h ave tried several braces and they just haven\'[t worked. Anyway i don\’t want all of my teeth pulled out, obviously but just wondered if mini implants are successful when it comes to filling in large gaps? regards,,

Can you give me the cost of a top and bottom denture?

July 3rd, 2011
Q.
Dear Doctor Moore, I have contacted you via dentalimplant.co.uk before and you have been kind enough to offer advice and encouraged me to visit you in Chelmsford (I live in Essex) I have been trying to save for some treatment. However, although I originally wanted traditional dental implants, i\’ve been trying to save since my last year at school, but unfortunately, now 22, I\’m dreaming if I think I\’ll ever be able to afford traditional implants. I have previously asked you of alternatives and you have explained that it may be possible for a combination of bridges and crowns to be used. But to be honest, it has been a few years since I decided to lower my expectation and, I can\’t even save enough money for these treatments. I have now lost my job which was only 2 hours cleaning in a school in the morning which was originally going to pay for me to go to uni and get my teeth fixed. My gap year has turned into 4-5 and I after I pay rent I\’m just never going to have the money to have any work. I do not want a wonderful \’hollywood\’ smile, I just want to be able to smile without people starring. I have had enough of the state of my teeth as they only seem to be getting worse and worse; even though I brush twice a day and visit my dentist. I have tried to ask my dentist about dentures but he only really seems to humour me when he replies. Although I have all but one of my teeth at the moment. I have had (I think) 6 root canals and more fillings than I remember, so I know my smile will only get worse in the coming years. I was wondering if you could give me any details as to the cost of having a top and bottom denture, possibly fitted my mini implants. Would I have to pay for my teeth to be removed too? If I do, are there any procedures I can take to persuade the teeth to come out on their own to try to cut down on the cost. I imagine they would probably be out of my price range too, as I can only really stretch to around £2,000. Can you recommend any treatments I can get within this budget, because I can\’t carry on the way I am at the minute. My teeth are making me more and more depressed. Im becoming more and more worried that my bad teeth will lead to other health problems too. I\’m not worried any more if I can only have dentures, even without the mini implants, because I just need to get them fixed. I can\’t handle crying and being depressed because people have laughed at me or are making fun behind my back any more. Even if their is a dental school where the cost may be less it would really help me if you could let me know. Thank you for your advice,
,
