Q. Three weeks ago I had a single lower jaw dental implant. From the start there was severe pain. I went back to my dentist a week later and was given pain killers, but had no xray. After four trips to casualty for help with excruciating pain and one visit to max/fax an xray revealed a hairline fracture next to the implant. I am still in terrible pain and taking a cocktail of strong pain killers. Will be seeing my dentist on Monday. Could you please tell me what might be done to help me and how much longer the pain is likely to continue. Many thanks.,
A. I\’m not sure how this might have happened as I haven\’t heard of this before a bone fracture would be very rare, there might be a chance that the implant will need removing but obviously you should be guided by your surgeon as he will know what your situation is
