Hello Dr. Moore. I had two dental implants to which a bridge of 5 teeth were screwed to. This was 18 months ago, and now they keep coming loose. This has happened about 10 times and the dentist who keeps re-tightening them says the problem is that the 5 teeth have only two teeth to mesh with, as my lower back teeth are missing. I wondered what you think, as sometimes they come loose within a day and other times they stay tight for up to 6 weeks. Thanks you.

Hello, thank you for your query. It sounds to me like 2 implants aren’t enough support to hold 5 teeth, especially if you have a limited amount of other teeth to support your bite. Perhaps you should consider more implants to help the bite, or maybe dentures to give you more teeth to chew with.
