Q. I am due to have damon braces fitted early in January. However a tooth that has historically been a problem (is a root filled crown premolar)is now very loose and I guess likely to be on its last legs. An implant has been mentioned before but the addditional cost has been a major con. Is it possible to have an implant during ortho treatment or would I need to sort out the errant tooth first? A. It might be worth trying to remove the tooth first as it might be possible to use the space and close it with a brace rather than plaing an implant. if this isn’t possible then the implant could be placed during the brace traetment without too many problems
