Am I suitable for dental implants?

Q. At the moment my front six upper teeth consist of a three-tooth bridge (which is 23yrs old) and three teeth on a partial denture, which also contains three other teeth which are missing from the back of my mouth, two on one side, one on the other.(I have had the denture for three years, after the three tooth bridge I had to match the present bridge sheared off and couldn’t be replaced.) I have recently inherited some money, and would like to have all those nine teeth replaced by implants. Is this possible?,
A. I would recommend having a consultation with an experienced dentist who has in an interest in dental implants. There’s quite a lot going on so they would probably want to make some models and take some pictures and x-rays to asses your suitability and to create a treatment plan for you. Many Thanks. Am I suitable for dental implants?

Q. I am a 40 year old male who does not smoke and I managed to get one of my teeth close to the front of my mouth knocked out. Could you tell me if I am suitable for a dental implant? What other factors will decide whether I can get the treatment done?
A. Hi thanks for your question.

It’s difficult to advise if you are suitable for a dental implant without a full comprehensive consultation which would normally include xrays and photographs.

Factors to be considered are how the tooth was lost, how long ago was it lost, was there any damage to the underlying bone?

The good news is that dental implant treatment can be very successful and for non smokers the healing time can be much faster.

Hope that this helps.

Thanks
