bone growth dental implants

Q. Over the last year I had the UR back molar removed due to bone loss and the second UR was successfully root canaled but then cracked across so I need to have it removed and an implant placed. My dentist wants to remove and do a bone graft simultaneous with the implant pin and then leave for 5-6mths for the bone to grow. She says this is safe and has done it before although I understand from this site that bone graft is normally done before inserting the implant pin. I was advised that I would need a sinus lift & a bone graft – my dentist doesn’t think the sinus lift is necessary as I have not had the tooth removed yet. Very confused want to do the right thing – what do you advise?,
