Can I Get Dental Implants on the NHS?

Q.
Hi Dr Fahey. I recently had one of my front teeth taken out, about a month ago. I do have more missing teeth around my mouth, mostly at the bottom but there’s 2 at the top as well. I’m currently seeing an NHS dentist and I am currently unemployed. My teeth make me feel very unhappy and implants would solve all my problems, do you think the NHS will pay for them? They’re too expensive for me to pay for myself.
A.
Hello, thank you for your question. I’m not entirely sure, but it if you strongly present your case then they might be able to help you. The best thing to do would be to talk to your NHS dentist about your situation and see if they can give you a referral to see a restorative specialist in an NHS hospital. The best of luck to you.
