Do symptoms point to infection of dental implant?

September 19th, 2010
Q.
Two weeks ago I finally had my dental implant put in. I stuck to all the dentist’s instructions what with salt water to rinse mouth and medication, but still managed to get red sweling around the area. From what I have read up on it would seem that the implant has failed and I have made an appointment within the next few days. Does this kind of thing happen often? Is it likely to happen again if I get the implant done again? How long will it take for the gum to recover from this?

Denture feels uncomfortable after getting implants?

September 16th, 2010
Q.
10 days ago I had two implants placed in my lower jaw at the front. I am a little concerned about my denture which has never been a good fit. At present I am not wearing it but when I do my top teeth will be pressing down quite hard on the denture on to the lower gum. Will this do any harm when I’m eating or do you think I should leave it out.

How painful is the implant procedure?

September 16th, 2010
Q.
What is the level of pain I can expect to feel during and after the procedure. It sounds like quite a painful procedure or is that just the way it comes across? What kind of recovery time is normal as well? Thanks!

Is sickness caused by dental implant?

September 16th, 2010
Q.
A day since having my dental implant I have been having a really bad headache that won’t go away and been sick on two occasions? Is this just bad luck that I have come down with something at this time or is there possibly a problem caused by the implant?

Q.
Could you please tell me what pain medication will be used after the dental implant procedure to ease pain. Would you happen to know if it would have any effect on the contraceptive pill?

Is dental implant procedure not as bad as it sounds?

September 10th, 2010
Q.
Would you be able to give me a reasonable description of what the dental implant procedure involves? Is a drill used to go into the jawbone? It is this kind of things that leaves me on edge if you could help to ease my worries about the whole thing a bit?

What to do if dental implant is infected?

September 9th, 2010
Q.
At the moment I am taking care of an elderly lady. In the past she has had several dental implants which has resulted in no problems, but after having another implant on friday she has been suffering this weekend. She has gradually lost her colour and is still in bed due to lack of energy. She has had a terrible headache and was even up last night being sick. Could the dental implant be infected and causing this? Any help would be appreciated!

Are there any risks to dental implants?

September 6th, 2010
Q.
Are there any risks involved in the dental implant procedure? The thought of having a screw drilled down into my jaw bone is not all that appealling and I was wondering if there could be any complications to this?
