Can I get implants to replace upper denture?

January 12th, 2011
Q.
Dr Moore, I am in my 50’s and am considering replacing my upper denture(almost full arch) with dental implants. I have been informed that I would need a bone graft and a sinus augmentation to do the implants. As I have an aging mouth with poor lip support, deep laugh lines and marionette lines due to the loss of teeth and use of denture for about 30 years, kindly advise whether dental implants with bone augmentation can help to provide better lip support and alleviate the laugh and marionette lines. Thanks.,

January 5th, 2011
Q.
Since 12 years old I have had a denture for my top teeth due to a bad accident then. I am now in my 40s and have wanted implants ever since I heard about them. It is four teeth at the front of my moutht that are missing so can you tel me what would be the most suitable treatment for me along the lines of an implant brige or soemthing. Don’t really want dentures again.

Have I wasted my money on lower implants for a denture?

January 3rd, 2011
Q.
I have lower implant for a denture. The o rings have been replaced many times because the plate gets loose and flops around. I paid thousands of dollars for this thinking I would always have a secure denture. Now I am told that these rings need to be replaced every 6 mos at a cost to me. Now therings don’t even last a month. I was also told it is what I eat that could be the problem. I chose this route of denture replacement because I wanted to resume my normal eating habits, which include corn on cob, steak, nuts, gum. Now to be told this is my problem, I should have gone the simple denture route. I have little jaw and also this is my problem. I have no problems with the abuttments, just the denture plate. Any suggestions, or did I throw 7 grand to the wind or someones vacation. I have only had this for 3 years…..

How many implants are needed to support a denture?

January 3rd, 2011
Q.
I currently have a full denture for my upper mouth – can you tell me how many implants I would need to get tot hold it in place more firm? An implant denture is a good way to make them less movable I have read so I am hoping this is achievable?

Should I have tooth removed as it is far back in my mouth?

January 2nd, 2011
Q.
A tooth toward the back of my mouth needed to be removed which I was not all that happy with. But it is not noticeable when I talk or smile as it is so far back in my mouth. My dentist has recommended a dental implant but I am unsure whether it is really necessary? If there is just one tooth missing and I don’t need it to improve the look of my smile is it essential to get it done?
