Fillings have fallen off and dentist says broken roots need to be removed. I am afraid or my gums receding. Would implants be better?

August 28th, 2011
Q.
Hello, About 5 years ago my new dentist said I needed all my fillings renewed so I had all white fillings in tooth whitening as I needed two new crowns (top front). 3years after all these teeth broke off my newer dentist said he must not have removed all the decay before filling. He also wants to remove all broken roots in my gums but I am afraid of my gums drawing in. I think implants sound better for my age than dentures could you please advise me. Many thanks,

Can you tell me if Evodental is a reputable company for implant treatment?

August 20th, 2011
Q.
I have seen an advert in the national press for dental implants by Evodental Implant Centre Merseyside. I wonder if you could tell me if they are a reputable company. I have worn full dentures for over 40 years and am experiencing some problems.,

I have dental implants but have had problems with air blowing through small gap at top of bridge where gum hasn’t healed. How can this be filled?

August 18th, 2011
Q.
Hi, Eight of my top teeth at the front are secured by four dental implants. I had these fitted four years ago and have had problems ever since with air blowing through small gaps at the top of the bridge where my gum hasn\’t grown back. My dentist has tried to fill the gaps a couple of times but this keeps falling out. Do you have any suggestions of how to fill the gap? I did think that maybe botox injections in the gum might help but I don\’t know if this is possible. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks.,

How long after abutment is attached will I be able to get crown. Will temporary denture still fit?

August 4th, 2011
Q.
I lost a front tooth approximately 6 months ago. I have opted for the implant surgery and it has gone relatively well. I am at the stage of getting the abundment screwed onto the rod. My question is, is it only approximately 7 days for the wound to heal enough to to put a crown onto the abundment? and also I have a temporary denture for the tooth missing which I am using to hide the fact I am missing a front tooth, will this be able to still be worn once the abundment is put in place?,

I have two practices giving varying prognosis for my teeth. Can you advise?

August 4th, 2011
Q.
I am male, 65 and had 2 upper jaw implants fitted in 2007 to retain a full over-denture. Both implants failed and had to be removed last year. I now have 2 proposals before me for further treatment, one from the original practice and a new, second opinion. They differ in some fundamental ways and I\’m having trouble deciding which, if any, route to pursue. Both propose bilateral sinus lifts, followed after a few months by 3 implants on each side and a fixed bridge. One proposes implant fitment followed by a week without the denture then 4 months healing time, but the other offers a temporary acrylic bridge within 24 hrs of inserting 6 Astra implants, followed a few months later by a final metal bridge. The traditional quotation is certainly cheaper, but involves two 1 week periods without any upper teeth. In view of my history, could you comment on the relative merits (especially probability of complications/failure) of the two approaches? Thanks.,
