I Want A Couple Of Implants To Support My Partial Dentures As I Regret Having My Top Teeth Pulled. Is This Possible?

August 28th, 2014
Q.

Hi Dr Moore. I have a full upper set of false teeth and only a few teeth remaining on the bottom and I was wondering if I could get just a few implants or crowns in order to help me return to wearing just a partial denture at the top like I had previously before getting all my teeth at the top removed? I’m getting so depressed through it that I can’t even leave the house and I find it hard to talk properly, I have saved up a couple of thousand pounds and was wondering if there was anyway to help relieve me of wearing a full set of dentures? Could I have a few crowns or implants fitted that could then support a partial plate with the other teeth as I really regret having all my top teeth pulled out as I’m now lacking self confidence and I feel helpless, any feedback would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

I Like To Travel Around The UK And I Was Wondering If There Would Be Any Complications With Separate Dentists Treating My Implant Surgery?

August 21st, 2014
Q.

Hello Dr Bohara. I like to travel a lot and I’m planning a road trip around the UK. It’s going to be a lengthy one! So hey, why not?! Anyway, I’ve been desperate for implants for a while now I have a partial denture in my upper mouth, which I just hate, it’s always falling out. If I had the implants done where I live and carried on travelling would another dentist in the UK be able to carry out the rest of the treatment? Or would I have to stay put in London till then? (Where I am now). Thanks in advance for your advice, I hope you can help me.

I Recently Lost A Tooth To An Accident, But Now I Have Two Different Consultations On What To Do Next?

August 14th, 2014
Q.

Dr. Fahey, I recently lost a tooth due to an accident. I’m 36 years old. I saw two dentists, both recommended implants. One said I need a Bio-Col ridge preservation technique done at the same time as tooth extraction, the other said a bone graft is sufficient. What is the difference? Is ridge preservation needed? The second dentist also said the bone graft should be done 3 weeks after the tooth extraction. Which treatment option is better? Thanks.

How Long Will I Be Able To Start Eating Solids After Having Implant Surgery?

August 7th, 2014
Q.

Hello Dr Moore, I just want to know something that is really bugging me. How long in your opinion, will I have to wait before I can start eating solid food when I get my new implants fitted? I’m going for the procedure in a fortnight from now and I go out for a lot of business lunches, and I don’t really fancy sitting there with some soup and a straw as you can imagine it would start to get quite tiresome. I want to begin eating solids again as soon as possible, so how long, on average, will it take until I can do this? Thank you for your time, I hope you can help me with this matter.

Hi, I Had Implants A Few Years Ago, But Recently I’ve Had A Dull Pain In The Gum, Why Is This?

July 30th, 2014
Q.

Hello Dr Bohara, the issue I’d like to discuss with you is that I had a couple of tooth implants fitted about two years back on my lower jaw and they worked fine up until now, as for the last three weeks or so I have noticed that there is a swelling in the gum below the implant and a dull pain in the gum. The tooth implant itself does not ache and I am able to bite normally. There is no reaction to cold or hot fluids and neither is there any bleeding of any sort, so I am at odds to explain what it is that’s wrong. I would really like any information on this and will appreciate advice. Thank you.

Hi. I Am Desperate For An Implant! The Only Issue Is That I Suffer From SVT, And I’m Looking For Someone Who Can Treat Me?

July 23rd, 2014
Q.

Hello Dr Fahey. I want to tell you that I am really desperate for an implant! The only issue is that I suffer from regular SVT, especially when I’m panicked/nervous which often causes me to pass out. I’m looking for someone who can try to treat a patient like me? Would it be more suitable for me to be placed under sedation? Or will that only cause further heart problems? Can you please offer me some advice? I would be very grateful if you could help. I just want to be able to smile properly again, without any gaps! Thank you, I really hope you can help me sort this out.

I Have Gum Disease And I’m Worried My Teeth May Fall Out, Can You Provide Me With Any Help Or Advice?

July 19th, 2014
Q.

Hello, Dr Bohara. I have gum disease, which I have had treatment for over the last couple of years. After a filling some weeks ago, I had quite bad toothache, and the tooth is now about to fall out. I am devastated, as I do not want a plate fitted. I am also scared that the other teeth will fall out as well as this. I thought I was on top of the disease?
If I pay for just one tooth now, I may have to keep getting dentures which will be costing more and more, my dentist has not been very helpful in this matter either. I can’t have a bridge as I do not have many back teeth. I really hope you can help me with this enquiry, any information or advice will be greatly received. Thank You.

I Have An Implant Which Aches Occasionally. What Could Be The Cause Of This?

July 19th, 2014
Q.

Hello Dr Moore, my problem is that I have an implant that aches off and on. It has ached occasionally for the last 18 months. It has been in place for four years. I need it to be used as part of a bridge since the tooth next to it is missing. The missing tooth is one of the implants that came out. There is not enough bone left to put another implant in. Do you think something is wrong with the implant?
What would make it ache in this way. It only does it occasionally. I originally had four implants and so far three of them came out. I had bone grafting as well and the grafting has now deteriorated. Thank you in advance for your reply. I hope you can help me with this.

I Have An Infected Molar And I Don’t Want Complications. Should I Go With Antibiotics?

July 3rd, 2014
Q.

Hello, I have just had a crowned molar extracted because it got infected for a second time and my dentist said that recurrent infections were highly likely so it should come out. He cleaned the remaining hole but two days later it was infected. So he cleaned it again and put a swab in it with antiseptic on it. It feels like it is getting infected again though not as badly as the first time. I am going to see him tomorrow, two days after the swab went in. Should he give me antibiotics now or just clean it again. I am breastfeeding. I don’t want unnecessary antibiotics but I don’t want complications either. Many thanks in advance for your help.

Should I Get Mini Or Full Dental Implants?

May 29th, 2014
Q.

I have been to two dental practices about receiving implants. I have both my front teeth missing due to a car accident I was involved in. Anyway, one practice has recommended mini implants while the other has recommended full implants. I don’t know what to do, I don’t know which one is the right suggestion. Do you have any idea about what I should do? I don’t want to be overcharged and I feel that’s what the other practice is doing (the one giving me the full implants) they said I don’t have enough bone to support the mini implants, does this impact upon receiving them? Thank you for your time.
