Should I Get Mini Or Full Dental Implants?

Hi there, I wonder if you can help me to make a decision. I’ve been to 2 consultations regarding dental implants after having an accident in which I lost 3 teeth. One dentist suggested I have mini implants whereas the other guy said full implants would be best as I don’t have enough bone to support the mini implants. So obviously now I don’t know who to go with. What do you think?

I have been to two dental practices about receiving implants. I have both my front teeth missing due to a car accident I was involved in. Anyway, one practice has recommended mini implants while the other has recommended full implants. I don’t know what to do, I don’t know which one is the right suggestion. Do you have any idea about what I should do? I don’t want to be overcharged and I feel that’s what the other practice is doing (the one giving me the full implants) they said I don’t have enough bone to support the mini implants, does this impact upon receiving them? My two teeth that i had apicoectomy’s on 20 years ago are infected, what’s the best way forward from here?

I have two teeth at the very front of my lower jaw that had apicoectomy’s approx 20 years ago and are now infected. I understand from what I have read I will need bone grafting, possibly a small/mini implant and that there is an above average chance they may fail – can you give me any advice on the way forward, suitable treatment (I don’t want more bone damage or anything that could fall out / break etc) and if I can find a good experienced implant dentist could they treatment work. I’m 24years old & i had a lip piercing in for 3 years, i’ve taken it out now but due to this piercing my two front lower teeth have been damaged, i’ve had x-rays & they show i’ve lost about 45-50% of the bone in my teeth & some of my gum has worn away

I’m 24years old & i had a lip piercing in for 3 years, i’ve taken it out now but due to this piercing my two front lower teeth have been damaged, i’ve had x-rays & they show i’ve lost about 45-50% of the bone in my teeth & some of my gum has worn away.. I’ve had composite filler to fill up the gap (still abit of a gap near my gum to keep it clean) but my dentist said i’ll need a fixed bridge or implants in the near future..I’ve heard about the mini implants & prefer the sound of them so far but i’m not sure if i’m the right candidate for them..Please can i email you a picture before my composite filler to see what you suggest please?..I wish i never had the piercing done,my teeth were lovely & straight before this happened, i just want to choose the right procedure for my problem.. please help! Am I suitabe for the all on 4 dental implant and denture treatment?

Dr Glover,
I am considering the All on 4 implants to upper and lower jaws. I have 14 teeth which need removing, I currently have a denture of 4 teeth on the upper jaw along with 7 natural teeth which are in poor condtion. On the lower jaw I have 8 teeth and no denture I can provide an x ray and would just like an idea of costs.
I suffer with gum disease and severe bone loss I have had a number of consultations which would require me to travel to various parts of Europe which I would like to avoid if possible

1 of my mini implants has failed, should I opt for dentures instead?

I had 2 midi implants fitted…1 failed and the other has had a crown fitted but the gum seems to be receeding and it looks like the bone is going around the implant. I am worried that the implant has caused this and will show through. I have been told wait and see but what if it does? what can be done? To take it out would mean further bone loss and then what..as I would still have the problem with the gum. i have been told gum grafts dont work well. I am to have a bone graft on the side that the midi implant failed (from another dentist) and 2 full implants fitted but i am now having second thoughts as I am desperately worried about this gum problem. Is there a really good denture that I could have fitted instead? I have only been given the usual ones. I would be most grateful for any advice. Many thanks

could you explain to me the difference between implants and mini implants? I am needing a new tooth but hate the thought of having to wait ages as i hear you do with the normal implants.

My denture has broken. I need new one for already placed mini implants. Advise?

hallo, i wonder if you can help me please, i have had mini implants now 4 in upper and 4 in lower and did have overdentures placed which were fine untill i broke the plate of bottom dentures, unfortunatley i had these done in portgal and cant affors to go back there, i want to know the cost of having new dentures made top and bottom and of course having the housing units placed in them to fit over my implants. how much would this cost please help as im stuck with mini implants still but no dentures at all. please answer where i can get this done and the cost. urgent, the old dentures are irripairable and so would need new ones.,

Will getting denture retained with mini implants stop food from getting stuck?

I have new lower denture (whole set) about to be retained by mini dentures next week. I have a worry though. food or tablets get inside plastic gum (underneath tongue) and lodge up into the denture underneath false teeth. Is this something that cannot be resolved or perhaps is it the result of the denture being ill fitting?? Many Thanks,
