Do bone grafts have a good success rate?

Q. Hello Kailesh, I have been told that I do not have enough bone for dental implants, and my dentist said that bonegrafts do not work 60% of the time, so I cannot have dental implants, is this true?
A. Hi, I feel the stat that 60% of all bone grafts failing is definately untrue. Until you have a CT scan, which is a three dimesional x ray of your jaw bone, it is impossible to say whether you do have enough bone. If this is the case once the scan is done, then implants is definately the option for you. I would proceed with a bone graft as in my experiance they work very well. There are failures with every treatment but the sucess rate is higher than 40%. Hope this is helpful.
