Does age and medication rule a patient out from having implants?

Q. would you consider my father in law for dental implants. he is 74, had a quite severe stroke 13 years ago, a few mini strokes since, and a couple of heart attacks. he is on blood thining tablets and other various medication. he is quite adamant that he wants this treatment. my worries is his health. I need to be forwarned before i take him to his dentist to be considered for the treatment ,
A. It maybe that his medical history precludes him form having dental implants although if managed correctly it may still be possible. He would need a full dental and medical assessment from an experienced implant dentist before an treatment could be considered
