Does dental insurance cover the cost of dental implants?

Q. Is dental insurance able to cover any of the dental implant procedure. If not directly for the implant itself do you happen to know if it can cover the bone grafting. Have any of your patients gone down this route?
A. Yes, some insurance company’s will cover implant treatment. While the ones that won’t, will still usually cover the extraction (if required) and the crown. I think the insurance company should at least cover you up to the amount they would pay for a 3 unit bridge as this is the next best alternative, however whether they will do or use the technicality that dental implants aren’t covered by them is dependent on the insurance company and the premiums that you pay.
