How many implants will I need to replace a bridge?

Q.

Hello Doctor

I have a bridge consisting of 4 teeth at the top front of my mouth. Due to root canal work that has not worked I had to have an operation at the maxio-facial clinic 4 years ago. However this has not worked either and the bridge is starting to fail. My options are to have the operation again but my surgeon says this is only 50% sucessful and can accelerate the process. Or to have the teeth replaced by impants. As Only one tooth is missing, how many implants would I have to have, could the other 3 teeth be replaced with crowns? and would the site of the original tooth loss be suitable for an implant as it was areound 40 yers ago.

Thank you very much for your time

Hello

The chances are you’ll need at least 2 implants as it sounds like the teeth under the bridge are failing and require removal. You may need the bone supplementing around the tooth as well if its been missing for 40 years
