I am very worried about having a tooth extracted, will i be able to get any kind of general anaesthetic

Q.
I have been referred to have a tooth with a failed root canal extracted, I am very worried about the extraction, I asked for a general anaesthetic but they are doing it under a local, I am firstly concerned about pain, I often get a locked jaw when have dental treatment and I am concerned about hearing the crunching noises and the possibility of the tooth breaking, I have told the receptionist that I am worried, will the dental surgeon be understanding? The tooth is not causing any pain, what will happen if I don’t have the extraction? And what will happen afterwards is also a worry. Will I get crown implant or something else? Thanks for your help.

Hi, thanks for your question – I would recommend you have the treatment done with iv sedation.
