I have a loose front tooth that i’m frightened to use, my dentist said there is no chance of it falling out, should i be looking at an implant?

Q.
I have a loose front tooth which i dare not use to bite as I am frightened that it will make it worse and is slightly painful when I put pressure on it. My Dentist told me it was fine and that there was no chance of it falling out, but that to me does not solve the problem of the looseness and discomfort it causes let alone not being able to bite with it.. It is also about 1½ mm lower than my other front tooth which it never used to be. Should I be looking at an implant or what? Many Thanks

Hi thanks for your question,You should be seeing another dentist for a second opinion. If it is loose and painful it could be an indication of a serious condition.Good luck, Dr Nick Fahey
