Is implant success affected by condition of nearby teeth?

Q. Is the success of a dental implant anything to do with the teeth that are around it. I have a tooth missing and the two teeth on either side of this area are not in the best shape but I do not want to get rid. Will this have any affect on how the dental implant infuses with the bone?
A. If the teeth are infected loose or have serious problems that need dealing with it might be worth including these in your implant treatment. sometimes if there are 3 teeth in a row that have poor prognoses then I will removeal all 3 and place 2 implants and bridge across the space.

If the teeth are just not 100% but bascically sound without infection then keeping the teeth shouldn’t affect the new implant.
