Is it possible to get a temporary tooth when waiting for implant?

Q. I am going to need to get tooth extracted and then get two dental implants. I am guessing that when the teeth are extracted there needs to be time to wait for the area to heal before the implant is put in? Maybe I am wrong, but anyway, will I be given a fake tooth or something when the implant is left to heal? I don’t like the idea of having a gap in my teeth.
A. tooth or teeth? 6 weeks max usually for front teeth, 12 weeks for back teeth, although sometimes the implants can also be placed immediately

i am guessing the gap must be close to the front, so a temporary tooth would be required
