Is the dental implant causing me pain? Or is it something else?

Q. Hi dr, i had an implant 2 weeks ago (upper front tooth) and everything seemed fine. Just recently however my gums have turned very red and are bleeding slightly where i had the implant, they\’re swollen and it\’s very hard to eat anything as it feels as if it has spread around my whole mouth. Is the implant causing this pain? or is it something else do you think?,
A. Swelling and bleeding gums are often a sign of infection. If you are experiencing pain or these symptoms then you should arrange to see your dentist to get everything checked over. Regards. George Glover BDS MSc
