My Gums are Bleeding Following Implant Treatment, What Should I Do?

Q.
Hello, I’m hoping you can give me some advice. I had my implants put in about 2 months ago and am aware that they take long than this to fully heal, but my mouth is in a lot of pain. It hurts to eat or even open my mouth, and the gums are bleeding quite a lot.My dentist hasn’t been brilliant when it comes to giving me advice on this, all he does is tell me which pain killers to try. What do you think I should do about this?

Hello, thank you for your question and I’m sorry to hear about how badly you are suffering. It’s hard to determine why this might be without seeing you. Try to speak with your dentist one last time but tell him you might have to seek a second opinion to look into why there’s been no improvement. Then find a different dentist and ask them. It can take the tissue up to 6 months to heal, so unfortunately it may just be a case of being as patient as you can with the matter. I would definitely seek a second opinion to be sure. I do hope it heals soon, and hope this has been helpful to you.
