If a tooth is removed then the remaining teeth around it will begin to move over time to fill in the space. This can be in the form of adjacent teeth tipping which can make them difficult to keep clean or teeth that would normally bite together overerupt which can cause problems with the bite and could potentally lead to other problems.
It’s really up to you whether or not you want to leave the space there. As long as you know all the reasons for filling the space and have all the options available to you, such as implant, denture, bridge?
Have a discussion with your dentist and I’m sure they’ll be able to answer all your questions.
I hope that this helps.
