Should screws be poking through the gums after a bone graft, what do you advise?

Q. My daughter had bone graft surgery to prepare her receeding bone area for new implants. After four weeks she started to complain of the screws poking through her gums. What is going on? The doctor wants to remove the screws on Monday even though the graphs will probably not have healed. Says major concern of infection with the screws having come through the gums. Have you ever had this experience? How do you recomend we move forward?,
A. Yes the screw can come through the gum too quickly sometimes so removal of the screw is the only option Your dentist should then wait again for more healing before the implant is placed.
