I Need a Filling But Suffer From Dental Anxiety. What Can Be Done?

May 28th, 2015
Q.

Hi there, I’m 14 and have a massive problem with dental work while conscious. I have needed a filling for over a year but backed out because the process of numbing went wrong and I just couldn’t handle it. I was supposed to get a referral to arrange what could be done but never did. I’m going back to get another referral but what will they do, and what can I do?
I was put completely to sleep when I was younger to have 10 teeth removed which wasn’t so bad, but when I had one awake it sent me crazy! I’m not sure why I can’t cope with being conscious during treatment, but I just can’t and I don’t know what to do.

Can the Implant Procedure be Carried Out Under Anaesthetic?

May 24th, 2015
Q.

Hello Dr Bohara, I have 4 missing teeth at the top of my mouth on the right side and I want to have them replaced but I have a really really sensitive gag reflex. I’ve always had problems going to the dentist because of this as I’d gag even if I was only having a check up! But it sounds like I need implants so I just wanted to know if the procedure can be carried out with me under anaesthetic?

Can you give me some advice about how to go about being put to sleep to have a tooth removed?

June 2nd, 2011
Q.
Hello, Please can you give me some advice about how to go about being put to sleep to have a tooth removed. Since i was 7 and the dentist took my tooth out which wasnt nessacary i have the worst fear of the dentist. I need a root canel on one of teeth at the back but as my fear is so bad i have left it for 5 years, i keep getting infections and have a permant absese on my gum. I was chewing a chewing gum and half of my tooth snapped off. I braved going to the dentist today which i must add was disgusting and the dentist just pulled the equipment out of a wooden draw, no gloves on etc, and said he would remove the that was snapped. He now says i will have to have a root canel or have the tooth removed. However i cannot face going to the dentist to have this procedure unless they will put to me sleep. Please can you advise how/ if i go about getting it removed whilst being put to sleep. Thank you,
dr glover
