Should I get a Maryland or cantilever bridge and how long would they last?

October 9th, 2011
Q.
Good afternoon, I recently had a front tooth (post crown) removed due to an infection, i also lost a lot of bone at the same time. ive worn a denture for 6mths and its healed well but im not sure which bridge is more suitable for me (i cannot stand the idea of an implant as i would prob need a bone graft and also it would mean another 12mths for healing) i waver to the maryland as is less invasive, but feel the cantilever may give me a better look and last longer (although my teeth at either side are 100% fine and this bothers me to mess. which bridge do you feel to be the better in looks, feel & how long they last? im so desperate to get my smile back! thank you so much ,

Should I get an implant or another bridge when my current one fails?

October 2nd, 2011
Q.
when my dental bridgefails would you then say i just go for another one or should i get implants? what would the difference in price be? There is one missing tooth, so would the bone have receeded or whatever it does? Still a few years left in it but it\’s so costly i need to prepare for the future.,

My new crown was attached to a 30 year old post which has now rusted. What choices do I have now?

September 23rd, 2011
Q.
I had a root canal done on an upper tooth almost 30 years ago and a crown fitted. 2 years ago I had extensive work done including implants on my upper teeth and had a new crown fitted onto the root canal tooth for aesthetic reasons. The new crown has now come loose and has come out. The new crown was fitted to the 30 year old post and core which consists of 2 tiny screws which have come loose and are attached to the new crown. One of the screws has rusted! Should my dentist have fitted the new crown to the old post and core or replaced it and what choices are open to me now?,

What is the smallest gap size for a single implant?

September 3rd, 2011
Q.
what is the smallest gap size (i.e.width) for a single implant? I had a lateral incisor removed over 20 years ago and have had a winged bridge ever since. I would like a single implant but whhen i checked many years ago the gap prob only 2 or 3 cm wide was too small. Is this still the case?,

My bridge is coming to the end of its lifespan. What are my options to have it replaced before it breaks?

September 1st, 2011
Q.
I have a 10 year old bridge which I have been happy with. However I understand this is about the lifespan of a bridge and as it for three front teeth I am dreading it breaking and being without teeth until a replacement can be made. What alternatives are available to me. Also I have been unable to get my teeth whitened as they would then not match the bridge. Can you have implants without having to be without teeth for a while,

Can you point me in the direction of a dental insurer that covers the cost of a bridge and implants?

August 28th, 2011
Q.
Hi there, can you please point me in the right direction to get dental insurance which covers the full cost of a bridge if it needed replacing and two implants? I have heard there may be one insurer who if the patient commits to insurance for 10 years minimum will be given cover. Is this true? (As I am looking for dental cover). Thanks for your time, regards,
