Is there an age limit for dental implants?

August 8th, 2010
Q.
At what age is it advised that you can get an implant? There must be a cut-off age for children I guess, but my child suffered a bad injury to his face and is need of such treatment. He is ten. Hope to hear from you soon.

Are dental implants possible if gum disease remains?

August 8th, 2010
Q.
My dentist has just informed me that I am going to lose all of my teeth because of gum disease. After taking care of my teeth this came as quite a shock. Are dental implants an option to help replace missing teeth or is this not possible with gum disease?

Would a clinic replace a dental implant that has failed?

August 8th, 2010
Q.
In how many cases, if any, in your experience have patients had an implant that has failed? If this happens would a practice give further treatment free of charge to amend the problem?

How much would it cost to get an implant and crown?

August 6th, 2010
Q.
During an operation for knee replacement surgery(private hospital) a front crown was fractured by the anaesthetist. Initially the hospital agreed to repair treatment which would involve an implant as there was insufficiant bone for a new crown to be fitted. Part of the operation was carried out by the dentist attached to the hospital. In July I had a letter from the hospital saying they would not pay for my implant as the anaesthetist was an independent practitioner – and hence she was responsible. The process has stalled, so I am now in a position where I have had a titanium post in place for almost 4 months, and no idea what happens next. My question is, how much would it cost approximately to complete the process ie to put in the implant

Can several dental implants be done in one treatment?

July 29th, 2010
Q.
I now only have two teeth remaining in my mouth, and I can tell you that my smile is not a pretty sight. Implants are looking like the best option. Would I be able to get all my implants at the same time, or would I require several appointments?

Six upper and four lower dental implants, but worried they will fail?

July 29th, 2010
Q.
Hi, I have had 6 implants in my top jaw and 4 on the bottom, the top 2yrs ago and bottom 12 months ago. I had suffered with gum disease since my early teens. Whilst I think the surgery etc was successful I have a number of problems. I have had one infection at the top treated, but the pain has since come back. I now have similar discomfort in and around a implant in the bottom of my mouth. This is my daily/weekly dental hygiene. 1. Philips sonic toothbrush 3 x times daily. 2. Interdent brushes used daily. 3. Corsodyl daily defence used twice daily. 4. Dental floss used every other day in the evening. 5. Soft brush with corsodyl gel used around each implant – weekly. The cost was in excess of £30k. I am now paranoid that all of my implants are about to fail??? I would appreciate your opinion. Many thanks.

Is a dental implant necessary or merely for aesthetic reasons?

July 29th, 2010
Q.
A tooth toward the back of my mouth was removed due to decay. My dentist has recommended that I have an implant, but I would like to know whether any problems would occur if I was just to leave it the way it is? It is toward the back of mouth so no on can see it when I smile or talk.

What is the difference between mini implants and dental implants?

July 24th, 2010
Q.
While trying to gain an insight into implant tretment and what this incorporates, I came across something called mini implants. I would like to know what these are and if they are any different from normal treatment?
