Are implants held by cement on posts?

November 7th, 2010
Q.
Hi My question is about implants. Are implants held by cement on the posts. I am told that they come off by themselves in a year or months. Is there no technique available that allows a mechanical fastening? Your detailed reply would be highly appreciated. Regards

Are there likely to be complications with dental implant?

October 21st, 2010
Q.
I want to get a dental implant but I am unsure whether this is such a safe option. Are dental implants prone to infection or is it relatively safe to go ahead with? What possible problems could develop?

Able to have implant during ortho treatment?

October 18th, 2010
Q.
I am due to have damon braces fitted early in January. However a tooth that has historically been a problem (is a root filled crown premolar)is now very loose and I guess likely to be on its last legs. An implant has been mentioned before but the addditional cost has been a major con. Is it possible to have an implant during ortho treatment or would I need to sort out the errant tooth first? Many Thanks

Will dental implant require special care when I get it?

October 17th, 2010
Q.
If I were to get a dental implant would I need to pay particular attention to cleaning this area or is it just the same routine with the other teeth? Is there anything special I would need to do for the implant?

Am I right to be worried about dental implant procedure?

October 16th, 2010
Q.
I have just lost a lower premolar. It was a very difficult extraction over 50 minutes to remove. I am thinking about an implant but nervious about how long it will take to put in an implant and if i will have any instruments or equipment in my mouth whilst the procedure is being done. I understand I will have local anesthetic similar to that used for extraction. What happens to the cut gum while the implant is being positioned? Thank you
