Told two different things off different dentists about my maxilla. Which implant method do I go with?

Q.
I recently visited two separate dentist, both experienced in implant dentistry. The first told me that the relatively new all on 4 methodology was a bad idea. He recommended a simple ridge augmentation procedure for my maxilla, considering that ridge reconstruction and the placing on multiple implants would be very expensive. The second dentist (a perodontist), after doing a complete scan explained that the all on 4 technique could work well with me, especially if he places a fifth implant in the maxilla. In short I am a good candidate for the procedure. As you can see, I have received two quite different professional opinions. I am now quite confused and looking for any third party advice that I can get. Can you give me your insight.
A.
Complex implant treatment can be tackled in a number of ways and if you visited another surgeon he might say something different. I tend to give my patients a choice of procedures as they all have their pros and cons. All-on-4 works well for a number of patients but needs to be carried out by a dentist with experience in the technique, bone augmentation probably with a sinus lift has been around for longer but has the limitation of cost and timing. Unfortunately without seeing a CT scan of your jaw its impossible for me to tell you what I would recommend, if you’re local to me I would be happy to take a look for you, if not go with whoever you feel the most confident in and maybe find out whether they do this type of complex treatment all the time??
