What is the rate of success with dental implants?

Q.
As stated on this website, that the subperiosteal and plate form implants have a high failure rate. Can you please state the failure rates for each implant type as a percentage. What other factors affect the succes rate of implants? ie are there chemicals in tooth paste or other oral products that can affect the implants? What are the disadvantages of having implants over dentures? Any additional information that you can provide to help me answer my EPQ question, which is “What is the best way to replace missing teeth?”
A.
Subperiosteal and plate implants aren’t used any more. Normal implants show success rates of 98% over 15-20 years.

Dentures are removable false teeth often with a plate covering the gums and palate, they need removing for cleaning and maintenance and are generally less comfortable than implant retained fixed or removable teeth.
