What options for sedation are there?

Q. Hi, what kinds of sedation can be offered for a full set of implants? I don\’t particularly stay awake during the treatment but I obviously have to. Any suggestions doctor?,
A. Thanks for your question. The 2 most common methods of sedation available are IV sedation and Inhalation sedation. Not all practices offer sedation and you would need to discuss this with the dentist. During the treatment you will remain conscious but will be in a more relaxed state and many patients don\’t remember the appointment afterwards. You will need to be assessed to ensure that you are suitable for sedation and would need to bring someone with you to your appointment. I hope that this helps. Regards George Glover BDS MSc
